PENTAMEROUS PHOTOGRAPHY
Fourteen outstanding Atlanta artists have each been invited to display five pieces of their work that represent their very best creative efforts. These works will show a wide range of interests and techniques among the group, most of whom have been studying together for 5-10 years. The show will provide some unusual perspectives on modern day photography and delight even the most discriminating observers. The show will be “pentamerous” i.e., grouped by fives and five times greater than the average photography one sees. Collectively this group of fourteen photographers has won over 150 ribbons in juried shows, (small and large; regional, national and international.) In addition, here is a list of some of the honors and distinctions they have achieved:

FOLK ART SHOW
Self-taught, outsider, primitive, naïve, Folk artists have defied definition and broken down barriers for a century. Through their use of unconventional materials and subjects, folk art has risen in acclaim with audiences and collectors as a respected art form.
Summer of 2018 will mark a new exhibition to grace the Quinlan galleries featuring local and regional folk artists, including: Frances Byrd, Margaret Cameron, Tex Crawford, Charlie and Susan Frye, Sam Granger, Tonya Haswell, Mariah Hope, Mary Frances Hull, Adrienne Kinsey, Herschel Kranitz, Ernest Lee, Eric Legge, Larry Little, Peter Loose, Durwood Pepper, Kip Ramey, Billy Roper, Celena Schoen, Susan Smith, Jason Smith, Robin “Bird” Smith, Danette and John Sperry, Jimmy “The Capman” Straehla, Jane Taylor and Jim Shores.
Colorful, playful, from whimsical to macabre, humorous or edgy, many artists display biting wit with socially conscious compositions, or comical revelations, reflecting the vast and diverse culture of the artists and their perspectives.
